Introduction

The Department of Chemistry was originally incorporated in the Department of Physics and Chemistry, which was established in 1954. Then in 1999, with the approval from the Ministry of Education, the Department of Physics and Chemistry was divided into two departments. To cope with the variety of war patterns and advances in chemical weaponry, the principal mission of our department is to equip the officers-to-be with specialized knowledge in nuclear physics, physics, and chemistry.

Required courses within the Chemistry major include General Chemistry, Introduction to Explosives & Nuclear Weaponry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Experimental Chemistry. Electives include Chemical Math , Biochemistry, and Nuclear Chemistry. It is hoped that by conducting experiments to validate the chemical theories, the cadets can be trained as professionals in nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) examination and analysis.

Our department is devoted to facilitating the progress of Biotechnological Chemistry, Instrumental Analytical Chemistry, and Applied Chemistry for the national defense in order to meet the demands of modern NBC warfare.
