Facilities 教學設備

Our department has 6 language classrooms, one of them is multi-media computer language classroom. Every classroom has a language-teaching controller, main cassette recording set, students' cassette recording set, material-hint machines, projector, video machine, computer equipment etc.

本系計有六間語言教室，其中一間是電腦多媒體語言教室。每間教室內有語言教學主控機，主卡式錄音座， 學生卡式錄音座，耳機連麥克風，教材提示機，投射器，錄放影機系統，電腦設備等。

By combining the visual and audio materials with language teaching, we can develop students' abilities of listening, speaking ,reading and writing through such visual and audio ways of learning.

應用視聽教材與外語教學相結合，透過視聽學習，提升學生外語聽、說、讀、寫的能力。

In order to develop students' abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and ability of global vision, the language laboratories are used for language teaching through visual and audio learning. In order to catch up the trend of multi-media language learning, our language centers use the teaching ways of internet and software to make students learn foreign languages naturally in virtual world and promote their ability and interest in language learning, which also makes the activities of language teaching more efficient to students. Besides the library, we also have a large collection of English reference books which we hope will facilitate our students' acquisition of English.

語言教室的使用旨在與外語教學相結合，透過視聽的學習，發展本校學生應有外語聽說讀寫的能力，使之具有國際觀之能力。語言中心為因應未來多媒體英語教學趨勢，期透過網路教學及光碟軟體的應用，讓學生在虛擬自然的環境中學習外語，以提升外語學習的能力及興趣，使外語教學活動達到更有效率的學習效果。此外我們圖書館擁有龐大英語藏書，我們希望這些藏書能夠幫助學生的英語學習。

1.      情境互動教室

   情境互動教室運用高科技技術打造360度環景投影的虛擬情境空間，老師可透過電腦操控更換不同情境，運用虛擬畫面、場景設定，使學生有身歷其境學習之感受，並能與牆面互動做自主練習或進行單字遊戲。課程主題共提供40種情境，主要分為三大部分：生活英語、主題英語、台灣走透透。生活英語情境包含餐廳、醫院、機場、健身房等；主題英語則包含中美重要節慶、紐約地鐵、中南美洲文化、天災救援、科技、西點軍校等；台灣走透透則包含故宮、高鐵、台北101、台南美食等，並融入本校軍事題材，以客製化方式製作校園英語情境介紹、英語日、基本教練以及中南美洲等4大軍事主題場景，讓學生練習日常生活會話、分組討論相關主題、培養學生能用英文介紹本校、台灣知名景點與文化。另提供學生自主學習模式，所有課程教材製成線上電子書並將相關習題上網，本校學生可透過網路進行課前預習、課中學習及課後複習來提升學習成效及便於日後進行學習追蹤。

 

Facilities

 

1.      360-Degree Interactive Classroom

   The 360-degree interactive classroom uses high tech to create a virtual scenario space with 360-degree projections. Faculty can change the virtual scenarios projected on the room’s walls through a few clicks of a master computer, to give students an immersive learning experience where students can interact with the walls and do independent exercises or games. There are a total of 40 scenarios with different themes in three broad categories: Daily Life English, Topical English, and Travel Taiwan. Daily Life English scenarios include restaurant, hospital, airport, and gym settings. Topical English scenarios include important holidays and festivals from Asia and the US, a New York subway, Central and South American culture, natural disaster relief, science and technology, and West Point. Travel Taiwan scenarios include: The National Palace Museum, Taiwan’s High-speed Rail, Taipei 101, and Tainan cuisine. Travel Taiwan also includes customized scenarios that integrate the military themes of our academy, including a customized campus tour introduction, English Day, basic training, and 4 military-themed scenarios from Central and South America. These scenarios allowing students to practice daily conversations, facilitate group discussions on related topics, and help students introduce the academy, and Taiwan's famous attractions and culture in English. It also provides a self-learning environment for students. All course materials are made into e-books and related exercises are available online.  Students can go online to do pre-class preview, in-class learning and after-class review to improve learning effectiveness and track learning progression.

 

 

 

2. 多功能外語學習室

多功能討論室設有電視螢幕、白板、桌椅可供36人上課、小組教學討論、電影欣賞之用。另有書櫃陳列英文書籍與多種桌遊教具及空中英語穿戴式VR系統，運用活潑色調來打造溫馨的環境讓學生能在輕鬆多元的環境中學習英文。空中英語穿戴式VR學習將不受地域空間的限制，並具備12堂沉浸式的互動體驗，打破教與學的傳統藩籬，透過更真實的感受去學習英語。可涵蓋生活各領域場景的實用英語，利用XR製作的擬真場景與人物動態，並創新加入「離線語音辨識」 技術與智能評分，還可角色扮演對話練習、單詞學習及與語句練習。

 

Multifunction Foreign Languages Learning Center

This multifunction room is equipped with TV screens, whiteboards, tables and chairs for 36 people to attend classes, group discussions, and use multimedia resources. In addition, book cases display English books, a variety of educational board games and Studio Classroom’s VR headsets. The room is painted in bright colors to create a warm environment so that students can learn English in a relaxing space. Studio Classroom’s VR headsets allow students to learn authentic English anywhere with 12 interactive lessons. VR gives students an immersive learning environment, breaking traditional barriers to language learning. The scenarios covered are common situations in daily life. Using the best of XR and innovative technology, the virtual reality scenes are highly realistic and the characters are aesthetically pleasing. The VR headsets have an offline voice recognition feature that uses intelligent scoring to analyze student responses, dialogues for role-playing, and vocabulary and sentence practice.

 

階梯教室:

本系階梯教室設有90個座位、數位講桌及2台投影機。此階梯教室主要提供專題演講、上課及舉辦大型會議或外語競賽之用。

 

Lecture Hall

The department’s lecture hall is equipped with 90 seats, digital desks and 2 projectors. The hall is mainly used for invited speeches, classes, and holding large conferences or foreign language contests.

語言教室

本系有五間語言教室，每間設有30至48個座位，內有語言教學主控機，耳機連麥克風，教材提示機，投射器，錄放影機系統，電腦設備等。其中一間電腦多媒體語言教室學生端設有30個多媒體電腦。本系應用視聽教材與外語教學相結合，透過視聽學習，提升學生外語聽、說、讀、寫、譯的能力。

 

   Language labs

The department has five language labs, each with 30 to 48 seats, a console server, earphones with microphones, document cameras, projectors, video recorder system, and computer equipment. One of language labs has 30 multimedia computers for students. The department uses audio-visual teaching materials and foreign language teaching together to improve students' listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation abilities through audio-visual learning.

 

會議室

   會議室設有20個座位可供開會、教學及討論之用。

 

Conference Room

The conference room has 20 seats for meetings, teaching and discussions.

 

閱覽室

   閱覽室設有12個座位並有電腦2台、列表機1台，供師生查詢、輸入、列印教學或公務資料。閱覽室也陳列各類英語學習書籍、雜誌提供學生自主學習，老師也可借用閱覽室輔導訪談學生及進行師生小組討論等。

 

Reading room

The reading room has 12 seats, 2 computers and 1 printer for faculty and students to look up information and print teaching or administrative information. It has many English learning books and magazines for students’ independent learning. Faculty can also use the reading room to coach or interview students and conduct teacher-student group discussions.
